Our latest project involved a passionate Porsche fan who not only adores his sleek cars but actively races them as well.
Whilst seeking the perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality, our client wanted to compliment his prized possessions with a well-co-ordinated garage floor and discreet cabinets for all his car-related items.
The Garageflex team introduced the idea of aligning the floor design with Porsche racing colours, echoing some of the client’s existing artwork. To achieve the finished look, we fitted a sleek all-black floor tile design with vibrant Porsche racing team colours down the centre of the garage with logos elegantly presented on either side.
In addition, we incorporated a set of our premium metal cabinets, complimented by a top-tier Oak worktop. This not only enhances storage functionality within the garage but also serves as an elegant display area for the client’s collection of Porsche memorabilia.

Insulating our homes to make them more energy efficient is something we’ve been hearing about for decades, but what about garage insulation?
Insulating the garage can offer many benefits, ranging from enhanced energy efficiency (particularly when it’s attached to your home) to making it a more usable space to spend time in. This blog will delve into the pros and cons of insulating the garage, shedding light on the considerations homeowners should bear in mind. So whether you want to use the garage as a home gym or simply looking to improve your home’s energy efficiency, understanding the advantages and potential drawbacks is important.
Energy Efficiency: The main benefit to insulating the garage walls is improved energy efficiency. Garage insulation helps to regulate temperature from heat loss in the Winter and to keep the space cool in the Summer months, all contributing to overall energy savings in the home.
Increased Comfort: A well-insulated garage makes the space more comfortable to spend time in, especially if you want to use the space for fitness, a games room or workshop. Insulation can help to maintain a consistent and comfortable temperature throughout the year.
Reduced Noise: Insulation acts as a sound barrier, reducing noise both from outside the garage as well as within. This is particularly beneficial if you plan to use the space for activities that generate noise such as playing the drums or DIY projects.
Protection of Belongings: Insulating the garage can help to protect your stored items from extreme cold and heat. Items like tools, seasonal decorations and sports kit are less likely to be damaged by temperature fluctuations if the space has been properly insulated.
Versatility: An insulated garage makes the space much more multi-purpose and provides a comfortable foundation for many different uses.
Cons of Insulating the Garage
Cost: Initial costs to insulate may be a drawback to some, however the long-term energy savings associated with this can off-set these costs. This is where Garageflex can help as we are able to include insulation as part of your overall garage transformation project.
Space Reduction: Adding insulation to your garage walls will slightly reduce the space. However, if you add this to your overall Garageflex project then it won’t take up additional room as it is fitted in behind our FlexiPanel wall solution.
Moisture Issues: Not installing insulation properly or providing adequate insulation may lead to moisture-related problems. Our professional installation team have many years of experience in adding insulation into our transformation projects and so know all of the pit-falls to avoid.
So should you add insulation into your garage? It really depends on your budget and what you want to use your garage for. If it’s for fitness, diy, games room etc. then it’s probably a worthwhile task.
If you still have questions about insulating the garage, come and speak to our Garage Experts to see if this is something you could do in your garage.
Delighted to hear from a customer whose garage floor we installed back in 2017. Initially, the floor was fitted out with our premium floor tiles in red and dark grey but we were pleased to learn that when he changed cars, he decided to update his floor as well.
The photos below in the gallery showcase the project from start to finish by our professional fitting team. And then our client purchased new coloured tiles from our e-store which he installed himself to update the colour scheme.
Our lovely customer gave us this fantastic quote “I can confirm, Garageflex are awesome! Garageflex fitted my garage floor 6 years ago. It’s still perfect and the coolest room in our house. I’ve changed car colour a couple of times so have changed the tiles from red to grey and white. But I still have the red tiles if I change again!

If you have your own business, start-up, or side hustle, having a space dedicated to your profession will allow you to remain in the zone and productive each and every day and is more important than it has ever been.
This article is all about converting a garage into an office and how you and your business can benefit from doing this. You may be reading this and thinking to yourself, “I don’t need a home office or studio. I can run my business from the sofa’, and while this may be somewhat true, you are, without knowing it, limiting your business’ potential and the growth you could see from having a dedicated home office.
One of the obvious advantages when converting your garage into an office is the dedicated and undisturbed space it provides you with.
Removing distractions, blocking out morning television, and increasing your focus are all benefits you will see when having your own dedicated work environment from home. If you have ever worked from home or if you are currently getting your business off the ground from home, you will be aware of the many distractions that arise throughout the day, whether you have a family with young children or get caught up watching the next episode of your favourite series, distractions can be everywhere.
Converting your garage into an office will remove all of these potential issues, allowing you to be in a space that is all about your business, giving you complete focus, and separating your private and business lives. Our garage transformations will create a space specifically tailored to your specifications, with no features too big and no job too small for our expert installation team.
Playing hand-in-hand with the above-mentioned benefit, converting your garage into an office can take your business to the next level.

The key to impressing clients and potential investors is to create a professional business image that conveys your brand’s core values and attitudes.

Additionally, our garage transformation services are capable of creating a range of different business spaces, including home studios, mechanical workshops, and home gyms. All of these transformations will deliver an immaculate and well-designed space that will impress clients and give them added confidence in your business and the service you provide, increasing the likelihood of recommendations and repeat business.
When installing a home office, you are not only investing in your business but you are also investing in yourself and your personal life.
Wondering how a home office can improve your personal life? The answer is simple, shorter commutes, more productivity, and being closer to your family and friends. A home office removes the dreaded commute to and from an office or rented workspace, allowing you to start and finish work when you want and need to, ensuring you don’t miss the kid’s talent show or the birthday meal for one of your longest friends.
The initial investment of converting your garage into an office space will definitely pay for itself in the long term, both financially and socially, with all the above advantages and benefits playing a part in improving your life as a whole.
Hopefully, the points raised in this article have given you a good idea of the multiple benefits and advantages available to you when choosing Garageflex when converting your garage into an office. If you’re looking for the premier garage transformation specialist in the South and want an end-to-end service, do not hesitate to contact our team to get the ball rolling.
Like every property that you see, every garage is unique. Not just the dimensions but also items on the wall such as boilers, metres and pipework as well as the current state of the space, when it was built and the materials used in the creation. Combine that with the myriad of reasons you might want to upgrade your garage and you’ll quickly realise why it is so difficult to provide ballpark figures as to how much your garage transformation might cost.
In this blog post, we’ll take a deeper dive into some of the factors that will affect your quote and the different options available for your bespoke garage design.
Ideas for upgrading your garage
Converting your garage into a functional and enjoyable space can greatly enhance your home’s usability and value. And as everyone has different hobbies, interests and ideas, we wanted to share just some of the ways you could upgrade your garage:
Home Gym
Workshop
Home Office
Art Studio
Music Studio
Yoga, Pilates or Meditation Space
Laundry Room
Hobby Room
Pet Haven
Factors that will affect your quote
There are many different factors that will affect the price of your garage transformation quote, here are just a few ideas to consider:
Size of your garage – of course the larger the space you are looking to transform, the more expensive the price for your walls, ceiling and floors. And of course it depends on whether you would like storage or cabinets on every wall or just one or two. We also offer the option to partially panel walls using FlexiPanel for use with a smaller amount of storage accessories.
Garage wall options – we have many different options for your garage walls including FlexiPanel, FlexiSmooth and FlexiTrack, click here to find out more about these options. Covering every wall in FlexiPanel provides complete flexibility when it comes to our storage accessories but, if you choose to have cabinets on one wall, we could panel that wall in our more cost-effective FlexiSmooth wall panel.
Ceiling – many clients choose to have the ceiling panelled in addition to the walls as it brings a sense of cohesion to the design, it also reduces draughts and space for bugs. However, this does add an additional cost to the design.
Lighting – we are able to offer many different lighting options as part of your installation including hexagonal and downlighting. We use our sister company Instaspark for this side of the installation or you are able to use your regular electrician. Our team will be able to liaise with them to incorporate it into the installation schedule.
Mirrors – we work with a very experienced mirror supplier for our installations and can request bespoke sizes to fit your space.
Boxing in pipework – there are often pipes, metres or boilers in the garage and to ensure that you have a streamlined look, we are able to create new cupboards to accommodate them.
Garage Doors – if you are looking for new garage doors, we can include this as part of your installation and have extremely experienced suppliers to assist with this. Please note that new garage doors are a big ticket item and will make a difference to the final cost of your makeover.
Desired flooring option – choosing a Resin Floor is a more expensive option that floor tiles so this is something to be aware of if you are looking to keep costs down. We are proud that all of our flooring is ideal for the garage, it usually comes down to the desired finish and budget.
Sinks and plumbing – we are often asked if we can build a utility area within the garage and this is certainly something that can be done.
Windows and doors – we also get requests to add in a new door or window and again, this is something that we can help with although will contribute to the final cost.
Metal cabinets – a must for any garage, metal storage cabinets provide a safe and secure storage option. Obviously the more you choose to have, the more the final cost is increased.
We hope that this has proved to be useful to understand all the associated costs when transforming your garage. Our garage experts would be delighted to discuss your project and provide a complimentary quote for transforming your space.

Most garages are poorly-lit making it difficult to find what you need, but that doesn’t have to be the case when there are so many options out there to choose from. This is particularly of note if you want to upgrade your garage in line with the rest of your beautifully designed home.
Here at Garageflex we wanted to put a spotlight (see what we did there) on garage lighting and show the different types available, how we incorporate lighting into your overall garage design and how it can impact the mood of the space.
Customising your garage design with lighting is an easy way to stamp your personality on the space and the type of lighting you choose depends on your preference, budget and the overall feel that you are trying to create. If you want the wow factor, then a large hexagonal design delivers in spades or if you want more of an understated option recessed or downlighting might be the way to go. The choice is yours.
Here are just some of the options that can be seamlessly incorporated into your bespoke garage design by our team of experts.
Our team of expert designers can easily add lighting into your garage ceiling, just speak with them at the design phase to have this service incorporated into the plans. Our seamless approach to designing and installing your garage means that we can work with your current electrician or we can bring in one of our recommended professionals to work on your project.
If you would like us to work with your preferred electrician please let us know. We can discuss the project with them and confirm when the first and second fix will need to be completed to coincide with the rest of your installation.
Or we have our sister company Instaspark who specialise in domestic electrical work and who can work with our garage team to bring you a complete service.
Bright lights are known to get you active and give you a sense of energy where as softer lights bring a calmer atmosphere. Warm lighting creates a comforting feel where as harsher white lights make it feel more clinical. So again it really depends on what you want to use the space for and the feel that you are trying to achieve. Any of these options can be implemented into your garage design by understanding your needs and working alongside electricians to attain the right feel for you.
We hope this has provided some insight and clarity over lighting in your garage, we would be happy to answer any questions and talk through your requirements so you can achieve the best result for your home. Do get in touch on 01491 579975 or email us at info@garageflex.co.uk.
Today we are taking a deeper dive into one of the most underrated heroes in home organisation – garage storage cabinets. Whilst they may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you of home improvement projects, these trusty cabinets play a pivotal role in transferring cluttered, chaotic garages into well-organised spaces that maximise both functionality and aesthetics.
Our Metal Garage Storage Cabinets are a popular choice for organising and decluttering the garage and so we take a look at the benefits for installing them in your garage.
Garage cabinets provide a designated space for storing various items, helping you keep your belongings organised and easily accessible. They are especially useful for categorising and separating tools, automative supplies, gardening equipment, and other items, making it easier to find what you need when you need it.
Metal Garage Storage Cabinets offer protection from dust, dirt, moisture and pests, helping to keep your belongings in better condition over time. This is important for tools, automotive parts and other valuable items that can deteriorate when exposed t harsh garage environments.
By keeping potentially dangerous items (e.g., power tools, chemicals) behind closed cabinet doors, you can enhance safety in your garage. This is particularly important if you have children or pets, as it minimises their access to hazardous materials.
Our new Tuff Tile range of garage flooring is now available to buy from our e-store. So alongside our professional teams installing these incredible tiles in your garage, you can now also choose to buy from our online store at www.thegaragestore.co.uk for DIY installation.
Not only are these tiles easy to install, they come with a lifetime warranty and are capable of withstanding 20 tonnes of direct loadings per tile and 75 tonnes of rollover weight.
