Amazing garage makeover for Endurance Runner Susie Chan

We are absolutely blown away by how fanastic Susie’s garage now looks. From a brick wall and concrete floor to a sleek, bright and organised home gym. Amazing work by our fitters Seve and Charlie.

It all started when Susie saw us on Instagram after fitting out the shed of The Runner Beans and converting that into a usable home gym.  She got in touch, told us what she wanted to do and Design Consultant, Abigail Leonard, came up with a plan and a quote for her.

All agreed, the date was confirmed for November for the big fit out.  Our two fitters, Seve and Chalie arrived with the plan to add wall cladding, install a new gym mirror and lay floor tiles to create a beautiful space.

Susie was on hand every day to give us a day by day progress report which you can see more of in our new video.

And here are some more photos of the full install.

Our winning gym challenge photo!

Thank you to everyone who entered their garage into The Great Garageflex Customer Challenge which closed today at midday.

The winning phot was chosen as we loved the yoga demonstration taking place and how the garage really seemed to be a great exercise space combined with great storage.  So congratulations to Mr V who sent us the winning shot of his garage and now has a £100 voucher to spend on our e-store coming his way!

Keep a look out for the next challenge launching next Friday.

A happy customer gives us some feedback

This lovely single garage in Kent is loved by the customer!  Our cladding to the walls creates a beautifully bright space and a grey seamless resin floor gives a subtle contrast.

The customer was delighted and gave us some fantastic feedback!

A new way to clad your walls

As you will know from browsing around this site, we use our own FlexiPanel to clad the walls and this not only gives a bright, clean look but also allows any of our shelves, hooks, baskets etc to be placed anywhere on that wall and easily moved to suit any changing needs.

But a growing number of people only want clean walls and do not want to hang shelves or anything.  So in a growing number of cases, we use the same cost effective cladding that we use on the ceilings on the walls.  This covers all the brick or blockwork giving it the same look as FlexiPanel and is proving particularly popular for people using their garage as a gym, training space or studio where storage needs are minimal.

It can also be used where a bank of tall cabinets cover most of the wall and so again no other storage will be needed. Or in a garage where there is very little space around the sides of the car(s).

And the big advantage is the cost: it is considerably cheaper and wins over plastering as it does not need decorating!

Below are some examples where we have used this new cladding as opposed to FlexiPanel.  Can you tell the difference?

To find out how this could be installed in your garage and what the costs might be, give us a call on 01491 579975 or send us an email.

Endurance runner Susie Chan set for her garage makeover next week

Monday is a big day for endurance runner Susie Chan. It is the day that her garage makeover commences with the plan to turn it into a great workout and fitness space.

Here are some photos of her garage before we get started and we can’t wait to share some during and after shots with you in the next newsletter.

Susie is a real inspiration and her website is well worth a look if you are interested in running as she has been named the number one runner to follow on Instagram by Runners World.

The Great Garageflex Customer Challenge

Introducing The Great Garageflex Customer Challenge for previous customers.

This will be a series of challenges over the next few weeks with each one having a particular focus such as classic cars, bikes, diy etc.  This week’s focus is gyms!

We would like previous Garageflex customers to send in photos of their garage with a specific focus on gyms. Whether it be how you have it set-up, the equipment you’ve got in it or how you use it – we want to see them all.

And the best image will win a £100 voucher to spend on our e-store to buy storage accessories of their choice.

How it works:
– Email your image to or direct message us via Instagram to be entered into the draw
– We’ll pick our favourite image on Friday 20th November at Midday and let you know the winner

Just a few terms and conditions
– The draw will run from Midday on Friday 13th November until Midday on Friday 20th November 2020
– The prize is a £100 e-store voucher to be used at by end of March 2021
– If you wish, you can transfer this prize to someone else (great Christmas present idea…)
– We can not give out a cash prize for this amount
– Our decision is final
– All entries agree to let us use the submitted photo on social media and our website.  We promise not to mention names or locations, or indeed anything that could identify you.

And finally, we would love you to follow our Instagram account and give your feedback on the entries!  Good luck!

New Garageflex floor for GB Paralympian Athlete Jack Eyers

We are excited to share our new video which follows the transformation of GB Paralympic athlete Jack Eyers garage.

Jack undertook his garage gym project last month and did most of the work himself which included empyting the space and painting the walls. We were then called in to lay the floor tiles and the results are a great training, just perfect for those lockdown sessions.

Fantastic testimonial received from Wiltshire garage owner

Always a delight to receive such great praise from a customer.  And when the garage looks as good as this it makes us even happier!

Free e-book for designing your own home gym

Transforming your garage into a gym or pain cave

With lockdown #2 now in progress and gyms shutting down again, perhaps you have decided that now is the time to think about creating your own training space at home.

If so, you are not alone.  Turning the garage or shed into a fitness space is now the number one reason customers get in touch to discuss.

With this in mind, we wanted to share our free e-book with you which looks at useful points to consider such as power, entertainment and storage options.  As well as providing some inspiration on how others have done it!

In addition, those who are training for a marathon, triathlon or ironman will also benefit from creating an indoor training area. Having your own space to train when the weather outside is terrible could be the difference between a personal best or just an average performance.

Update on Covid-19 from Garageflex – 3rd November 2020

Blog Covid 19 update 3 November 2020

There are many views on the rights and wrongs of the Lockdown that we are about to enter but one thing is certain to us at Garageflex: we all have a responsibility to do as much as we can to minimise risk and beat Covid.

We have maintained all our Covid policies that we introduced in March so we have been working safely for the protection of our customers and colleagues.

So having checked as much Government advice as possible we are confident that we can continue to work as long as the following apply:

  • Firstly as long as our customers are happy to have us working in their garages
  • Secondly as long as all our staff adhere to all our Covid policies and are fit and well
  • Thirdly as long as our suppliers remain open and can fulfil our needs.

And at all times, we observe Government guidance as far as staying safe and at no time will any of our teams enter customer’s houses.

So we are open for business and thank all those customers who have already called to say they look forward to seeing us as arranged.

The e store

We shall continue to take order at our Estore but our offices will be short staffed as a number of our team will be working from home. Therefore we shall aim to despatch orders on a Wednesday or Thursday but please bear with us if there is the occasional delay.

We do have stocks and so would be very pleased to fulfil orders.

Finally, please take care of yourselves and stay safe.
